Back-End Pharmacy Technician (No Patients | Consistent Schedule)

This is a fast-paced, behind-the-scenes role in a non-retail setting — no patient interaction, no drive-thru chaos. You’ll focus on labeling, packaging, and preparing prescriptions for delivery to LTC patients. 


Scheduled Shift: M-F 3p to Close (`11:30p), Rotating Weekends. Our target closing time is 11:30 p.m., but actual end times vary based on volume and staffing. Closing staff must remain on-site until all required tasks are completed, which may extend significantly past 11:30 p.m. on high-volume days. 

  

Role description:

Dispensing: This position is responsible for the daily operation of automated packaging and dispensing equipment, creating trays for automation, and fulfilling bulk and blister (bingo) prescriptions. This role shares in the responsible of keeping the dispensing area organized and tidy. This position may assist in other areas of fulfillment, such as toting and shipping. 

Toting/Shipping: Do you recall the old saying…”Last but certainly not least”? This absolutely applies to the Toting & Shipping Technician position.  Toting and shipping are the final step in MMP’s workflow, and they are as equally important as every function that occurred prior.  Attention to detail, meticulous following of processes, and timeliness are of utmost importance! The Toting & Shipping Technician is responsible for packaging prescription orders, ensuring all orders are in the appropriate package, applying the correct shipping label, and meeting the applicable courier deadlines.  Your role is to ensure the correct orders reach our residents on time, every time. 


Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

· Manual dispensing and packaging of prescriptions

· Operating automated dispensing and verification machinery

· Receiving and organizing inventory

· Preparing prescription orders for shipping

· Ensuring all orders are in the correct box/tote

· Including appropriate packing slips

· Preparing / applying correct shipping label, based on community, route, etc

· Constantly focused on details and accuracy

· Follows core processes

· Encourages teamwork and promotes company philosophy

· Attends required company meetings

· Completes all required courses in adherence with RPS

· Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basis

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Active IL Pharmacy Tech license

· National Pharmacy Tech Certification required within 4 months of start date

· Some experience in pharmacy preferred

· Professional demeanor and appearance with excellent customer service skills

· Punctual and reliable 

· Able to multi-task and work under deadlines

· Highly organized and attentive to detail

· Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills, ability to effectively communicate

Salary Description
