Senior Director, Data and Analytics
Description

The Senior Director of Data and Analytics is a vital leadership role responsible for the overall leadership, direction, performance and profitability of the Data department. This position is accountable for continuing to enhance Franklin Madison Direct’s capabilities and effectiveness across targeting, data processing, and analytics.  This is a hybrid position working out of our Eden Prairie, MN office. 


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Data department and its 3 core functions: Data Acquisition, Data Science, Marketing Analytics.
  • Develop, implement and maintain strategic vision, roadmap, and action plan for the Data department to include being accountable for the revenue growth, efficiency and profitability of the department.
  • Responsible for efficient and accurate processing of data, steering list research and modeling methodologies to produce high-performing marketing lists, analyzing campaign results to draw insights and form recommendations, ad-hoc analysis, and ultimately continuous improvement of marketing performance. 
  • Create increased department efficiency and margin by facilitating ongoing technology enhancements, capability expansion, and      process improvements.
  • Contribute to team members’ technical and career development including goal setting, performance evaluation, effective resource allocation, hiring, training and succession planning. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving a robust list vendor pool (variety, new vendor testing, favorable contract terms, etc.) to gain a competitive edge on pricing, access, performance, and speed. 
  • Champion the development of a merge optimization scoring model and in-house database(s) to drive differentiation and capability expansion.
  • Establish advanced/automated data flows and visualization capabilities for more timely and next-level analytics and insights.
  • Regularly monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in personalization, automation, integrations, data visualization, and licensing/white-labeling to incorporate best practices into the team’s work and identify opportunities for innovation. 
  • Collaborate with other leaders and teams to include Sales, Strategy, Finance, Account Management, Creative, Digital, and Marketing Operations to understand business needs and develop data solutions that support those      needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory data privacy and data security requirements as well as SOC 2 Type II protocols.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, accountability, respect and innovation.
  • Contribute impactfully as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. 
  • Represent the Data department externally to clients, partners, and the market.
Requirements
  • 10+ years experience in Data & Analytics specifically for B2C direct mail, preferably in an agency setting
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in related field 
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision for marketing modeling and analytics into actionable work for teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record for growing revenue and improved performance of departments and client campaigns.
  • Conversant in one or more coding languages (R, Python, C/C++, Java, VBA, etc)
  • Working knowledge of data privacy and data security processes (e.g., SFTP/FTPS, .pgp encryption, etc.)
  • Effective at simplifying complex analysis and presenting internally to stakeholders and externally to clients and partners.

Salary range of $120,000- $180,000 per year with additional performance bonus potential
