Description

The Executive Assistant to the Principal is responsible for the efficient running of the Principal’s office, providing excellent administrative assistance and highly confidential support.  This person serves as a Christian role model for students, parents and all individuals who interact with the Principal’s office.  This position is 30-40 hours per week, 12 months per year.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Handle all communication on behalf of the principal in a timely, professional, and God-honoring manner. This includes managing sensitive communication with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.

2. Respond to inquiries on behalf of the principal with authorized delegation and in a Christ-like manner.

3. Manage and maintain the principal’s calendar. This includes scheduling meetings with parents, meetings with teachers, faculty huddles, and teacher observations.

4. Approve teacher time off requests and send requests to the substitute teacher coordinator.

5. Serve as the point-person for cell phone recovery after school, serving as a Christian role model for students.

6. Manage official school communication from the Principal’s Office, including Academy Memo, WA Weekly, Curriculum Guide, and the Student Handbook. Coordinate the school calendar and all communication about bell schedule changes.

7. Manage events organized through the principal’s office, including Professional Learning Days, New Faculty and Staff Orientation, Back to School Night, Academy Awards, Accreditation visits, etc.  Arrange facility set up, catering, speakers, preparation of agendas, and communication with participants.

8. Coordinate all-school testing days.

9. Attend faculty and staff devotions and pray regularly for the Wheaton Academy community.

10. Organize, communicate and facilitate the annual curriculum review process with department heads.

11. Assist with Study Hall organization and communication.

12. Help organize and format Board Reports.

13. Complete annual ISBE non-public school recognition.

14. Manage textbook sales.

15. Coordinate birthday cards and gatherings for front office staff.

16. Assist with Student Survey reports.

17. Approve credit card expenses for employees who report to the principal. 

18. Maintain accurate records and files.

19. Coordinate Winterim Guest Instructors.

Salary Description
$19-22 / hour
