CNC Machinist

Position Overview

A well-established manufacturer and distributor of pipe fittings and components is seeking a CNC Machinist to join its production team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will bring precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of CNC machinery to help deliver high-quality industrial products used across the energy, petrochemical, and construction sectors.  This is a 2nd Shift only opportunity


Key Responsibilities

  • We are looking for LOD VTL operators to run 3 machine cells
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to machine components to exact specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine tooling and setup requirements.
  • Load and verify CNC programs; adjust speeds and feeds to optimize quality and productivity.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges).
  • Conduct in-process checks and make minor program edits or tool offsets as needed.
  • Monitor equipment performance, conduct routine maintenance, and report issues to maintenance or supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety protocols.
     

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the pipe fitting or industrial hardware sector.
  • Background working with oil & gas or heavy industrial products. 
  • Comfortable working with tight tolerances and quality assurance processes.
     
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to set up and indicate on manual tables 30” NPS flanges.
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift (4pm-1am Monday-Friday) with possibility of overtime.
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or machining certificate preferred.  
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using inspection tools.  
  • Familiarity with machining stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys is a plus.  
  • Knowledge of G-code/M-code programming and CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas) preferred.  
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and ensure part quality with minimal supervision.
