Pump Station Division Boom Truck Operator

Mack Industries is looking for an experienced Certified Boom Truck Operator / Class A CDL driver with experience in operation of boom trucks, flatbed transportation, and oversize/ heavy haul. The qualified candidate will primarily work with our Pump Station Division. In this position one will travel to construction jobsites to safely deliver and install precast concrete products, pumps, piping, and other equipment.


NCCCO Certification is required or must be obtained within 2 months of hire.

Position requires both local travel with frequent out of town travel. Hotel and per diem included. No weekends. 

Competitive Pay and Prevailing Wage (where applicable).

Starting wages $31/ hr!

Requirements

  

Essential Functions

  • Safely operate boom truck to set precast products, pumps, piping, control panels, and other equipment. Much of the work is below grade and will work in conjunction with qualified signalers and riggers
  • Transport precast concrete products on either boom truck or flatbed
  • Work with Pump Station Division crew in shop to prepare and load for projects
  • Follow company and DOT safety regulations
  • Report all MVR incidents to Management and complete incident reporting
  • Perform safety and material inventory before leaving the facility and/or job site
  • Report all safety violations and incidents to Management
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment before leaving the facility and/or job sites
  • Willingness to develop new skills and progress current skills
  • Willingness to assist other departments as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Boom truck experience required
  • NCCCO certification strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ driving experience
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Flatbed experience a must
  • Able to haul oversize and heavy loads
  • Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with a clean driving record and valid DOT medical card
  • Basic  mechanical knowledge to identify and report potential issues with the truck
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Environment Conditions and Physical Strain

  • Construction environment, seasonal weather conditions
  • Due to the nature of the operation, the levels of noise, dust and dirt can be high
  • Must be able to maneuver around the truck and perform tasks requiring physical strength due to potential loading and unloading requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., on occasion
  • Must be able to stand & sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to squat, crawl, climb and kneel to complete tasks
