The Staff Attorney is a dynamic role within Communication Service for the Deaf. Supported by the Vice President of Legal and Human Resources, this position researches and advises on in-house corporate legal issues. This role is challenging yet presents opportunities for the incumbent to grow with CSD.
The Staff Attorney will further the Legal and Human Resources department goals in reducing corporate liability and risk. On a daily basis, this position will support Legal and Human Resources’ main functions, including research of legal issues, the drafting and analysis of contracts, research and advice concerning employment law, and supporting operational in-house legal advice as needed.

This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and values. The position works in a virtual office environment utilizing a computer and standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required interact collaboratively with the team and stakeholders, and communicate via phone, videophone, or text messaging. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The position may require travel up to 10%.
