Description
George School, a Quaker boarding/day grades 9-12 college preparatory school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA has an opening for a Leadership Gifts Officer. This role will advance George School’s fundraising efforts by successfully cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding leadership gifts at the $10,000+ level.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 120 major donor prospects.
- Complete 120 donor visits annually.
- Secure broad-based financial support through face-to-face and virtual meetings and engage with donors, prospective donors, and volunteers in a variety of settings.
- Work closely with members of the Advancement team and the Head of School to collaboratively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors.
- Develop individual cultivation, engagement, and stewardship strategies for donors and prospects.
- Write visit reports and provide recommendations to the advancement team for stewardship and follow-up strategies.
- Prepare gift proposals for submission to prospective major donors.
- Attend and support on- and off-campus volunteer/donor functions.
- Fulfill George School social duty requirements as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two or more years of successful major gift fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit or independent school setting.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,) and familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or another fundraising database.
- Must be able to travel extensively (locally, regionally, and internationally).
- Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals and a successful track record of cultivating, soliciting, and securing major gifts.
- Ability to lead, take initiative, and work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills required.
