Description

Day in The Life

  • Support the sales team, with a “can do” attitude in reaching or exceeding monthly goals.  
  • A minimum of 25 outbound calls per day. 
  • Carrier sourcing and procurement, negotiate rates and track shipments.  
  • Establish and maintain carrier relationships to leverage the freight spend.
  • Monitor on time service standards for carriers and provide accurate and timely reporting of issues.  
  • Emergency contact person for after hours. (It is a rotation)  
  • The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned.  

Education/Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-year customer service experience.
  • Logistics experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Self-Starter and highly motivated.  
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Attentive to detail and deadlines. 
  • Can work independently or with a team.
  • Organized in a fast-paced work environment.  
  • Strong PC, phone skills and excellent customer service skills.

Physical Expectations 

  • Sedentary work – sit or stand at a desk, use a computer and a phone for most of the day.
  • Repetitive motion – type on a computer, write or dial on a phone.
  • Hearing – be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Talking – expressing or exchanging ideas by speaking when necessary.
  • Visual – be able to see a computer screen, read reports and/or information.
  • Pushing, pulling and/or lifting objects 25lbs or less.
