POSITION TITLE: Bailey Hill Warehouse Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Manager of Operations
HRS PER WEEK: 40 hrs./wk. with occasional evening and weekend hours
CLASS: Exempt
COMPENSATION: $58,999 – $64,000 - Depending on experience
BENEFITS: Eligible for FFLC-sponsored benefits (e.g. paid time off benefits such as holidays, floating days, vacation and sick). Health insurance benefits offered the first of the month after 30 days of employment; other benefits after 90-day mutual trial service period satisfactorily completed.

The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions and be very comfortable meeting multiple requests, making quick and sound decisions, and keeping all appropriate team members regularly informed of changes. The main responsibilities of this position include overall management of FFLC’s Bailey Hill daily warehouse operations. Coordinates with all FFLC departments to support mission delivery.
PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of Staff and Volunteers
- Promotes a positive work environment with a high level of focus on FFLC’s values of compassion, collaboration, and inclusion
- Demonstrates leadership and leads by example
- Hires, trains, motivates, and evaluates warehouse employees
- Designs and revises team schedules as needed. Coordinates and communicates to staff any modifications of daily schedules made to accommodate special or on-call pickups and deliveries
- Works collaboratively with the Distribution Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient flow of goods and resources between facilities
- Works collaboratively with the Food Resourcing team to determine donated product processing feasibility and storage.
- Works closely with program staff to support program logistics
- Works with the Volunteer Coordinator in the scheduling of Bailey Hill facility volunteers
- Coordinates work of volunteers, providing timely feedback, appreciation, and recognition
- Ensures regular cleaning of all workspaces and reports and maintenance or equipment needs
- Ensures all OSHA, food safety, and other compliances
- Oversees a team of drivers and has ability to perform basic fleet management steps.
- Maintains files and completed paperwork
OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings including Monthly All Staff meetings; Weekly Communication Huddle; All Supervisors’ meeting
- Engage in ongoing program planning and development with other FFLC staff
- Work collaboratively with the Distribution Warehouse Manager to cross-train department staff to ensure that all warehouse positions have backup coverage between both facilities
- Operate and maintains warehouse equipment and company vehicles in a safe manner
- Maintain general organization and cleanliness both inside the warehouse as well as the outer parking lot and dock areas
- Represent FOOD for Lane County to the public with knowledge and respect
- Perform other tasks as requested
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and/or training relevant to the position, particularly experience with the food industry, warehousing, and people management
- Ability to follow standard procedures and creatively solve problems when needed
- Ability to safely perform physical labor when needed, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate vehicles, forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Must demonstrate sound supervisory and volunteer management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment and ability to learn Primarius, a food inventory system and other software
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment
- Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse people
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work
- Must have a safe driving record, a valid Oregon driver’s license, qualify for insurance coverage with FOOD for Lane County’s insurance carrier, reliable transportation, current personal vehicle insurance, and the ability to occasionally use own vehicle for FFLC business
- Possess either a current Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification, or willingness to obtain required certifications within six months of hire
- All offers of employment are contingent upon passing a criminal background check
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is typically performed in an office/warehouse environment, with occasional off-site food drive attendance in all types of settings
- Assists as a back-up driver and in the warehouse, performing strenuous and repetitive physical labor
- Occasional requirement to work outside of regular hours, such as evenings and weekends
