Columbia Country Club:

Columbia Country Club was founded in 1898, it is a private member owned club which is situated in Chevy Chase, Maryland. The Club’s 1,600 family members enjoy golf, indoor and outdoor tennis, fitness and aquatic facilities, bowling, and paddle tennis courts. 


Position Summary:

The Host/Hostess reports to and is under the direction of the Restaurant Manager. The person in this position will be responsible for proper set-up of dining rooms, service, and breakdown of dining rooms. They provide great hospitality throughout service to include greeting members with a smile, working efficiently and assuring that the tasks that they are assigned are executed to the best of his / her ability.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complies with the club's policies and procedures as      established in the employee handbook and uniform handbook. 
  • Performs related dining room set up tasks
  • Cleans all assigned work areas.
  • Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks      such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc. and      re-setting the room. 
  • Attends staff meetings including pre-service sessions.
  • Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Ascertains their dining needs.
  • Consistently follows all sanitation-related      requirements, including those related to personal hygiene. 
  • Do their best to greet by name all members and their      guests, always by smiling and making eye contact.
  • Possesses a professional behavior and appearance at all      times. 
  • Held responsible for working all major club events to      include Mother's Day, Easter, Club Fireworks Event, Thanksgiving, and      Christmas.
  • Seats guests and manage the seating chart.
  • Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and      dining flow.
  • Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely,      friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Performs opening and closing duties, as needed.
  • Assists others with side work including, but not limited      to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
  • Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever      necessary to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Thank members and guests as they leave the club.
