Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Perform CT and routine diagnostic radiographic procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Apply radiation safety principles (ALARA).
- Explain procedures to patients and obtain necessary consent forms.
- Schedule and prepare patients for imaging exams.
- Record and verify patient history and exam information.
- Properly position patients using appropriate devices.
- Select appropriate techniques and protocols for each exam.
- Manipulate and reconstruct images to best visualize anatomy.
- Review and evaluate image quality before sending to the radiologist.
- Adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and security protocols.
Requirements
- High School graduate.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or actively enrolled in an ARRT Radiology Science Program. If the employee drops out of the Radiology Science program before completion and is not registry eligible with ARRT, termination of employment will be required. If currently a graduate from a radiology school, ARRT must be obtained within 6 months after the hire date.
- CT registry from ARRT required within one (1) year from the hire date and/or completion of cross-training on-site.
- Current BLS certification.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Must have excellent communication, people skills and ability to show empathy.
- Must possess critical thinking skills, pay attention to detail and be willing to learn.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
Salary Description
$31.00 - $45.00 per hour (DOE)
