Truck Assembly Technician –
Location: Clio, MI | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | Occasional Overtime


We are hiring a skilled and motivated Truck Assembly Technician with a strong background in 12-volt electrical systems, light welding, vehicle system programming, and a working knowledge of hydraulic systems. Ideal candidates bring high mechanical aptitude, technical training, and a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship.


As part of our vehicle assembly team, you’ll play a vital role in modifying and customizing trucks to meet industry-specific and customer-driven requirements. This includes installing and wiring complex systems on utility trucks, cranes, bobtails, and other specialty vehicles.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and wire electrical components such as switches, relays, fuses, circuit breakers, and sensors
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical blueprints, and assembly diagrams
  • Route and secure wiring harnesses along truck frames, chassis, and between axles
  • Program and configure vehicle control modules using tablet-based interfaces
  • Perform light welding and fabrication
  • Support assembly and enhancement of hydraulic systems and mechanical components
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Work in confined spaces and at elevated positions when necessary
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; contribute to shop maintenance, inventory, and organization tasks

  

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with 12-volt wiring, vehicle assembly, or mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and mechanical integration
  • High mechanical aptitude or completion of relevant vocational/technical training
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tablets
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Forklift experience preferred (training available)
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and time management
  • Able to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately
  • Strong problem solving and documentation skills

Salary Description
$18-$20/hr depending on experience
