Duties and Responsibilities: include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Set up and run machine with instructions from the foreman.
  • Will monitor quality and adjust offsets in machine to hold tolerances per the blueprint specifications during production.
  • Inspect finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges and micrometers.
  • Observe machine operations to detect any problems; make necessary adjustments to correct problems.
  • Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation.
  • Study blueprints and work orders to determine product specifications.
  • Will oil and stack all finished parts neatly on a pallet or a box.
Requirements


  • Must have experience in Manual Lathe. Experience in CNC Lathe is a plus.
  • Must have experience in working with large prototype parts and know how to use a crane.
  • Must have knowledge of what tooling needs to be used for certain types of materials.
  • Know speeds and feeds for different types of tooling.
  • Know right angle trigonometry to figure out angles
  • Know how to use a sine bar
  • Know how to read and have a good understanding of blueprints
  • Must have experience with inspection tools such as micrometer, gauges, calipers, etc.
