As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining efficient methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacture of parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. This role involves close collaboration with machinists and design engineering to coordinate updates to existing products and release of new products to ensure seamless integration into the manufacturing process. The Manufacturing Engineer will determine time standards, recommend tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines, and maintain comprehensive records and reporting systems to ensure smooth coordination of manufacturing operations. Additionally, this position provides vital support to manufacturing through CAD/CAM programming, optimizing machine performance and production quality.
What You Will Do
- Support day to day production activities to help meet customer product demand.
- React to machinery uptime issues and drive towards permanent, cost effective and long-term solutions.
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Assist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectives.
- Follow up on the implementation of engineering changes and variations from design specifications as well as new program developments.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
- This position is an active on the floor support position which could entail standing for long periods of time.
- Assist production through use of tooling, fixturing, programming (CAM), and method standardization.
- Works with QC and engineering to define and establish process capability and control methods and implements process.
- Establishes and maintains manufacturing documentation.
- BS degree in Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering or a combination of education, training, and experienceExcellent knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques and related equipment.
- Excellent CNC machining & programming skills in Turning and Milling. Grinding is also a plus.
- Must work with minimum supervision.
- Comprehensive understanding of the component manufacturing and sales industry and ability to learn SCHUNK product lines.
- ISO 9000 quality management principles, OSHA, and shop safely knowledge understanding.
