Hardywood Park Craft Brewery - Part Time Packaging Associate 

Position Description 

The Part Time Packaging Associate’s main responsibility is to fully support and contribute to the efforts of the Packaging Team as it executes the daily packaging needs and goals.  This includes working on all facets of Packaging as needed; canning, kegging and warehousing. This position will primarily be based at the Hardywood WestCreek facility, but with occasional shifts at the Hardywood Richmond facility as needed, primarily during canning runs.  This position has an opportunity to gradually become more involved in the operation of the canning line, kegging equipment and process and warehousing.    

This position reports to the Assistant Packaging Manager and Packaging Manager.

Responsibilities 

• Packaging of cans and cartons coming off the conveyor belt
• Ensure quality packaging of cans and kegs
• Keg washing as needed
• Taping of boxes once completely packaged
• Wrapping and placing completed pallets into bonded inventory based on Logistics Coordinator’s needs / preferences.  
• Inventory control as needed
• Help in Brewery as needed
• General cleaning of packaging and production area
• Breaking down boxes and discarding of them as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to lift a 160lb keg onto a pallet independently
• Ability to lift and place 20lb cases of beer repeatedly
• Must be able to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day
• Must be flexible with regards to working schedule, based on packaging needs, and be available with potentially little to no advance warning, also working overtime as needed
• Participate in safety and sanitation program
• Other duties, functions, and special projects when necessary and as assigned. Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Superior standard of sanitation and cleanliness
• Proficient writing and math skills
• Computer skills and software
• Works efficiently and with urgency to achieve daily goals
• Functions extremely well in a team-based environment
• Ability to adapt under short notice
