Description

Reporting to the Vice Principal for Enrollment, the Wheaton Academy Parent Relations Coordinator supports the work of the Admissions, Development, and Alumni Departments by enthusiastically conveying the mission and benefits of a Wheaton Academy education to prospective, current, and graduated families.   This is a non-exempt, 12-month, 20-25 hour per week position, with the potential to grow into a full-time role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  1. Promote Wheaton Academy to potential families through developed storytelling efforts, word of mouth initiatives, and other communication strategies. 
  2. Strategically use existing networks to recruit potential families to Wheaton Academy.  These networks include parents with children enrolled in Christian middle and elementary schools, local private middle and elementary schools, and targeted public middle and elementary schools; local church families; and families with middle and elementary school aged children involved in Christian-based sports organizations (FCA, Impact, Warrior Youth, etc.).
  3. Oversee a comprehensive Wheaton Academy volunteer parent ambassador program to help foster networking relationships and events within our parent community.  These efforts should deepen our parent community’s understanding, engagement, support, and promotion of Wheaton Academy.   
  4. Recruit and train volunteer parent ambassadors.
  5. Manage and coach the volunteer parent ambassadors in their relationships with prospective and new families, so that they represent the school in a Christ-like manner.
  6. Support onboarding efforts of new families through initiatives and volunteer parent ambassadors. 
  7. Through volunteer parent ambassadors, grow and strengthen relationships with feeder networks, including but not limited to Christian middle and elementary schools; Christian-based local sports organizations (FCA, Impact, Warrior Youth, etc.); local private middle and elementary schools and targeted public middle and elementary schools; and local churches
  8. Collaborate with the Marketing, Alumni, and Development department to plan and implement events.
  9. Serve as a representative of Wheaton Academy in the community.
  10. Serve as a Christian role model for Wheaton Academy students, parent ambassadors, prospective families, and new families.

Employees are expected to maintain a Christian lifestyle and affiliate with a Protestant church whose core beliefs align with the school’s Statement of Faith.

The ideal candidate demonstrates spiritual maturity and serves as a Christian role model, reflecting the principles of I Timothy 4:12 in character and conduct both within and beyond the school environment (Luke 6:40). This individual exemplifies discernment, dignity, respect, and Christ-centered living, setting a positive example for students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.


The ideal candidate brings experience in public relations, advancement, or marketing, and demonstrates a strong network within the Christian education and youth community. This includes established relationships with:

  • Parents of students in Christian middle and elementary schools
  • Christian-based local sports organizations (e.g., FCA, Impact, Warrior Youth)
  • Local churches
  • Private middle and elementary schools
  • Targeted public middle and elementary schools

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A passionate and unapologetic commitment to Christian education
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • High initiative and a self-starting mindset
  • Strong organizational abilities, including managing multiple projects to completion
  • Energetic and adaptable, comfortable both presenting publicly and working behind the scenes
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in a collegial environment
  • Experience in a Christian school or non-profit ministry is a plus
