Stabbert is currently looking for a Electro Technical Officer (ETO).

Position Summary: 

The ETO is a member of the vessel engineering department. The ETO reports to the Chief Engineer for the maintenance of the vessel's electrical and electronic systems they are working on. While they are assigned to a vessel, they are responsible for regular maintenance of the DP system equipment, ER monitoring equipment, and other department electronic systems, switchboards, transformers, and motors.

Essential Functions:

  • Repair of vessel electrical systems and electronic systems including the maintenance of the DP system and the thruster controls.
  • Operating, updating, and maintenance of the ship's network.
  • Monitor and maintain vessel ETO worklist.
  • Order all parts and spares in regard to the worklist supplied by the vessel they are assigned to.
  • Responsible for ensuring that a true and accurate record of the work that he has carried out is kept and entered in the maintenance records and his handover notes. This shall include ensuring that manuals and drawings pertaining to his/her area of responsibility are kept corrected and up to date in the event of any modification.
  • Maintain and monitor preventative maintenance of equipment in the company software program MobileOps.
  • Will notify the Chief Engineer of any spare gear requirements. Shall keep the Master and Chief Engineer fully informed of urgent spare requirements that may affect either statutory requirements and/or the safe operation of the DP system.
  • Assisting other departments as requested with electronic and electrical problems.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the technical services team.
Requirements

  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to analyze problems via communication while a vessel is at sea or in a remote location.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; capable of maintaining strong relationships both with the team and customers.
  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must  be well-organized, detail and customer-oriented (internal and external), self-starter, self-motivated, prioritize duties, and follow through with tasks to completion as necessary.
  • Working      knowledge in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe DC.

Education and/or Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required.  BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of sailing experience in an engineering role is required. 
  • US Merchant Mariner Document
  • Should be able to lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • There will be local and international travel (including air travel) up to 50% of the time with and without notice. 
  • The individual will be required to be in production areas in Shipyards and onboard ships. 
  • Must be able to walk to and from job sites. 
  • The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, to work at heights.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and passport and be able to receive a TWIC.
