Description
Atlas is responsible for tasks associated with industrial plant site clean-up. We use vacuums, high pressure water and dry ice blasting equipment, hazardous waste and decontamination clean-up equipment, and handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste and materials. This position offers great opportunity to work as part of a team, grow skill set, and advance from entry-level to supervisory roles.
REPORTS TO: Field Operations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate light and heavy equipment to include, but not limited to, pumps, vacuum equipment, hydro blasting equipment, forklifts, man lifts, jackhammers, and other light and heavy equipment.
- Perform activities to include, but not limited to, clean-up of chemical and water spills, tank cleaning, boiler cleaning, equipment decontamination, and other duties as assigned.
- Perform vehicle inspections, equipment inspections and Health & Safety inspections.
- Perform strenuous physical labor to include, but not limited to lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.
- Ensures proper use of equipment and immediately notifies the supervisor of any mechanical failures and/or problems with equipment.
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor while on jobsites and in uniform.
- Maintain quick and immediate response when on call.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), and pass a DOT medical physical, drug screening, and criminal history check.
- Construction field or industrial / environmental related experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical ability is preferred.
- Attention to detail and multi-task abilities.
- Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel if necessary (typically within a 4-hour driving distance or less).
- Ability to work with little supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work.
- Complete company provided training for confined space entry (CSE) and 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to withstand strenuous physical exertion.
- Ability to spend considerable amounts of time standing, walking, climbing, hoisting, and bending over.
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, tanks, and other containers.
- Ability to lift 50-75lb.
- Ability to work in an environment with potentially elevated noise levels and confined spaces.
- Ability to work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic or corrosive.
- Ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to withstand shifts that typically, but not always, exceed 8 hours.
- Ability, during emergency response situations, withstand shifts that may extend beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hours.
Salary Description
