Delivery – Driver


Job Summary

The Delivery Driver delivers product orders to assigned accounts and provides excellent, reliable customer service.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delivers ordered product to customers on time while overseeing all delivery, truck maintenance, and safety processes and procedures for the route.
  • Develops and maintains an effective rapport with all customers.
  • Oversees performance of route helpers, assistant drivers, and merchandisers assigned to team.
  • Counts truck and verifies with warehouse personnel before leaving for the route. 
  • Creates invoices and collects payment from customers and reconciles all transactions with company cashier.
  • Checks and audits truck and equipment each day to verify it is compliant with federal operating guidelines.
  • Completes training, seminars and classes as assigned.
  • Sells all products in accordance with company guidelines and T.A.B.C. (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission).
  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Act.
  • Completes and submits required reports accurately and on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Job Requirements

  • A qualified Driver must have at least six months of relevant work experience.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Good time management skills, an eye for detail, and experience working with a delivery team. Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen. 

  

Physical Demands

  • Regular use of hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical tasks, as necessary.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Frequently sitting and driving for long periods.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)

Involves frequent/infrequent, occasional, and routine exposure to:

  • Exposure to various retail and food service environments, which may include noise, temperature fluctuations, and crowded spaces.
  • Potential for exposure to product samples and promotional materials, requiring adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Travel may involve risks, including adverse weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to warehouse settings, where moving equipment and inventory may pose safety risks.
  • Other extreme hazards not listed above.
