Position: High School Pastor

FLSA Status: Exempt, ministerial exception

Job Status: Full time


The High School Pastor supports the Student Ministry team in the vision, development, and implementation of programs and events through overseeing and shepherding leaders, creating organizational systems, and collaborating with the other High School Pastors. This position reports directly to the Student Ministry Director.


MAJOR INITIATIVES

STUDENT LEADERSHIP: Conduct student interviews, partner with high school pastor in the development of overall structure of Student Leadership and Sunday trainings.

  • Initial application season
  • Sunday trainings
  • Seasonal Student Leadership retreats

ADULT LEADERS: Help with training, oversight, and shepherding.

  • Small Group Leaders lead midweek groups
  • Coaches oversee small group leaders, ministry teams, etc.
  • Thrive Students are used throughout the ministry as coaches and small group leaders

MIDWEEK PROGRAM: Oversee coaches & small group leaders, lead a small group, and manage Thrive Students.

  • Wednesday Program (creative elements, worship, teaching, small groups)
  • Ministry teams (Hosting, tech, media, worship, etc.)

EVENTS: Project manage events, including budget oversight, registration details, utilize coaches, build out timeline, vendor liaison, etc.

  • Seasonal events like Fall kick-off & summer calendar
  • Periodic connection & outreach events throughout calendar year

GLOBAL INITIATIVES: Tag team each initiative with high school pastor

  • Summer Camp
  • Thrive Unleashed Conference
  • Mexico
  • Bi-annual DRI for High School Event

OTHER

  • Weekend Connection
  • Speaking and teaching

Time Commitment

  • Full time, include weekends, evenings and holidays
