OBJECTIVE
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, maintaining client relationships, and promoting the company’s products and services. This role includes prospecting, presenting solutions tailored to customer needs, managing orders, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain a network of sources and leads to generate new sales opportunities.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services.
- Demonstrate product functionality and value to prospective and existing customers.
- Maintain relationships with current clients and provide ongoing product and service support.
- Communicate pricing, terms of sale, delivery schedules, and service details clearly and professionally.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues post-sale.
- Prepare detailed sales activity reports, including calls, orders, and lost business.
- Forecast territory sales and contribute to budgeting and margin goals.
- Estimate material requirements using customer blueprints and technical documents.
- Coordinate schedules with contractors and oversee timely material deliveries.
- Research and source special products as required.
- Assist with accounts receivable and collections when necessary.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive pricing, and market developments.
- Adhere to all company policies, including attendance and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general CRM/sales software.
- Ability to read and estimate from blueprints.
- Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in building materials or a related industry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to walk job sites, yards, and office locations
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to travel regularly to meet with clients and attend job sites
