Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using our reservation system
- Assist guests with inquiries about menu options, specials, and restaurant policies
- Coordinate with the culinary and service teams to ensure smooth guest flow
- Promote and sell banquet and event spaces to prospective clients
- Assist in planning and organizing in-house banquets and special events
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and banquet areas
- Support team members to deliver excellent customer service and uphold brand standards
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant hosting or front-of-house role preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Sales experience, particularly in event or banquet sales, is a plus
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Knowledge of reservation and POS systems

Restaurant Host – Key Duties
1. Greeting Guests
Warmly welcome customers as they arrive.
Make a positive first impression of the restaurant.
Ask about reservations or walk-ins.
2. Managing Reservations & Waitlists
Answer phone calls and take reservations.
Maintain the reservation system or booking app.
Add walk-in guests to the waitlist, if necessary.
3. Seating Guests
Escort guests to their tables.
Present menus and introduce the server if appropriate.
Ensure the seating rotation is fair among servers.
4. Answering Phones & Taking Messages
Handle inquiries about hours, menu items, directions, etc.
Take to-go orders (in some establishments).
Pass on messages to management or staff when needed.
5. Coordinating with Servers & Kitchen Staff
Communicate guest flow and special seating requests.
Adjust seating pace based on kitchen and server readiness.
6. Maintaining a Clean & Welcoming Entrance
Keep the host stand clean and organized.
Tidy up the lobby or waiting area.
Ensure menus and promotional materials are in order.
