Job Summary

Tareen Development Partners is a developer, investor, and operator based in the Twin Cities, poised for exponential growth on a regional and national basis. We have an entrepreneurial and dynamic team with a primary focus on providing high-quality affordable housing but also including market-rate, student and for-sale housing. In addition, our team is also experts in other commercial properties and development including retail and medical office. Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence, including site research, zoning review,  market analysis, environmental review, and site feasibility studies.
  • Track development purchase agreements and approval timelines; coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure timely completion of all due diligence.
  • Learn and assist with financing structures and funding sources (e.g., LIHTC 4% & 9%, Tax-Exempt Bonds, TIF, RAD, HOME, CDBG, AHP).
  • Underwrite new developments and acquisitions through financial modeling and pro-forma analysis.
  • Support relationships with lenders, investors, and other financial partners.
  • Help prepare presentations and briefing materials for city officials and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with design and construction coordination.
  • Work with vendors and utility providers to secure services and contracts (will-serve letters, elevator, landscaping, etc.).
  • Support logistics for real estate closings and procurement of FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment).
  • Perform other duties as assigned and travel occasionally.


Requirements


  • Current junior or senior, or recent graduate, in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Math, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with mapping/GIS tools and basic real estate finance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial.
  • Interest in housing and community development, with a focus on affordable housing.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a variety of tasks.
  • Primarily in-office role (flexibility may be considered).

Internship Compensation/Time:

  • $20-25 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

Future employment for appropriate candidates is a possibility as a Development Analyst in a full-time position with salary and benefits. In that role, the Development Analyst would further expand their responsibilities from that of the Development Intern while taking on more responsibilities to help the development team in executing new developments and acquisitions through the full life cycle of each project.
