Description

Summary

 Handles administrative duties in new product order process. Works with stylist to determine how Custom projects will be handled, organizes correspondence with mills-initial request, follow up, and prepares samples to be sent to Contract Dept contact, sales rep, and/or customer. Will assist in sourcing for packages and alternate/sub requests sent in by the salesforce or internal departments. May assist in ordering memos to organize memo bins for Contract salesforce. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Duties as directed by Stylists: 

  • Works with vendors, customers, and Contract salesforce, an administrative capacity.
  • Send labeled, identified samples to mills and customers.
  • Make standard files for all new fabrics.
  • Name, number and label fabrics in book rotations.
  • Hangs sales analysis on wall
  • Works with the mills and the purchasing dept when there is a change in manufacturing for an item, ensuring smooth completion of order process in its entirety. 
  • Requests sales printouts, does preliminary analysis and organizes for stylist.  
  • Helps process orders.
  • Organize incoming mill samples.
  • Handle quality issues with mills.
  • Aid in process of evaluating mill discrepancies.
  • Reads and routes incoming mail.
  • Prepares routine correspondence.
  • Files and tracks Contract customs.
  • Files correspondence and other records.
  • Answers telephone and give information to callers or routes call to appropriate official.
  • Places outgoing calls.
  • Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail.
  • Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance.
  • Special projects either assigned or approved by the Vice President of Product Development.
  • Provide other departments assistance as required.
  • Must be able to walk between Fabricut buildings.
  • Use materials and equipment effectively
  • Follow departmental and corporate policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus some college required and/or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of high-end administrative experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet usage.
  • Thorough with strong proofreading ability.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • Understand fabric in order to properly label face and direction.
  • Ability to understand custom forms and specification sheets.
  • Must be able to handle stress.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Must be multi-tasked and a good organizer.
  • Display reasoning ability and independent judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good writing and language skills.
  • Superb interpersonal skills.
