Client First Technologies is currently seeking a Drupal Developer to support a contract with our government customer. The Drupal Developer will support the customer's public website and related web properties, deliver secure, 508-compliant Drupal features, themes, and modules, manage updates/patching, and collaborate on content workflows and performance. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Drupal modules and themes; implement custom blocks, views, and site configs.
- Plan and apply core/module security updates; perform regression testing in staging/Test Lab before production.
- Implement content types and editorial workflows; improve authoring experience and governance.
- Ensure Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA compliance (semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard support, captions/alt text).
- Optimize performance (cache/Twig/Views tuning), search, and SEO hygiene; monitor uptime and errors.
- Coordinate deployments, backups, and environment promotion; participate in Change Control.
- Produce documentation and knowledge articles; train content owners on best practices.
- Support integrations (e.g., GovDelivery, analytics).
- Assist with incident response during off-hours on rotation.
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of professional web dev with 2–4 years focused on Drupal 8+ (preferably 9/10).
- Proficient in PHP, Drupal APIs, Composer, Drush, Twig, and front-end fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JS).
- Experience with Acquia (or similar managed Drupal hosting), environment pipelines, and configuration management (Config Split, Export).
- Demonstrated experience with 508/WCAG implementation and testing.
- Comfortable working within a formal SDLC and meeting release/quality SLAs.
Nice To Haves
- Security hardening for public-sector web (headers, CSP, auth patterns).
- Familiarity with SharePoint interoperability and basic data integrations.
Candidate will need to successfully pass a Government Background Investigation (BI).
