Position Overview:
The Overlake School—a thriving, future-focused independent school nestled in a green forest in Redmond, WA—is hiring for a dynamic, relationship-driven part-time Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, commencing August 19, 2026. Courses are one-semester long (2 courses per semester); Middle School Drawing (7th-8th grade), Middle School Painting (7th-8th grade), Upper School Drawing (9th-12th grade) and Upper School Painting (9th-12th grade.) The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who fosters a love of art, supports students in their academic and personal growth, is experienced in both middle and high school classrooms, and contributes to a collaborative and dynamic learning environment.

The Details:
Wage: $63,971 – 122,532 salaried exempt. The wage offered will depend on education level and years of experience.
Work Hours and Location: This position is considered a 50% FTE teaching two classes each semester. The role is in person and expected to be on campus 15 minutes before and after the first and last classes, respectively.

What You’ll Do
- Teach two courses per semester as assigned by Division Head.
- Substitute/cover for absent teachers three periods a year.
- Be an adult supervisory presence whenever among students before, during, and after school and at lunch (in the campus center).
- Participate in professional development
- Faculty meetings before the start of school in August for New Faculty, Department Chairs, other leaders
- Faculty meetings before the start of school in August for returning Faculty
- All professional development scheduled before, during, or after the school year is mandatory.
- Attend the following as directed by School Leadership:
- Attend weekly faculty Wednesday summits.
- Back to School Nights (Upper School and/or Middle School).
- 8th grade faculty need to participate in field studies including overnights, if necessary.
- Graduation and senior celebration events.
- One Admissions Open Houses or its equivalent, as determined by School Leadership.
- Proctor exams including finals, extended time, and AP exams for AP teachers.
- For student-Led Conferences & Parent Teacher Conferences half-day attendance is required each day.

- Maintain an accurate and updated LMS that meets Division and Department expectations, including final grade posting by the deadlines.

Education and/or Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or relevant experience; a master’s degree and/or teaching credential is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching fine-art or art related skills to MS and US students
