Marketing Graduate Student Assistant
Description

Works closely with the director or marketing to develop and execute marketing programs to educate and inform current students, former students, faculty and staff about the impact The Association of Former Students has on the Aggie Network. Coordinates and manages a wide variety of marketing-specific projects to support the organizations’ mission. 


DUTIES

Primary Functions:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing targeted marketing and branding opportunities aimed at educating students, former students, faculty and staff about The Association’s work and impact.
  • Works in tandem with graphic designers to develop and update new and existing Association materials.
  • Provides marketing support to departments within The Association, including but not limited to, Campus Programs, Former Students Programs, Fundraising, Aggie Ring Office and Events Team.

Secondary Functions:

  • Speaks to various groups about the Aggie Network. 
  • Performs related duties as required.

Participates and provides input on various Association-wide activities which may include:

  • Actively contributing to efforts to achieve donor growth goal of 100K by 2020.
  • Providing on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council Meetings.
  • Participation on internal event and task committees.
  • Participation in Association events including, but not limited to, TNT, Ring Delivery, Reunions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and Game Day events, as needed.   
  • Represents The Association as needed at events.

Acts as an ambassador for The Association by meeting Team Expectations; supporting The Association’s fundraising, branding, and communications efforts; and fostering relationships with former students, current students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Texas A&M.  Occasional other duties as assigned.


Requirements

EDUCATION

Required: Pursuing graduate degree

Preferred: Marketing, Communications major – or – commiserate experiences



EXPERIENCE

Required: Good working knowledge of Texas A&M University.

Preferred: Marketing experience(s), advertising experience(s), communication experience(s).


EQUIPMENT

Required: Extensive working knowledge of standard office equipment and software including: Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Required: Ability to operate a keyboard, ability to set up for various events, including, but not limited to: set up of tables chairs and lifting and moving furniture.


OTHER

Required: Effective oral and written communication skills including public speaking. Personable and customer service attitude. Ability to interact with a diverse population and to organize concurrent projects. Frequent night and weekend engagements required.


HOURS: 10-15 hours per week
