JOB SUMMARY

This role must have expertise in BSA/AML compliance related to online banking and digital channels.  Experience with crypto and blockchain is a plus. You will be responsible for administering the Bank’s programs for BSA/AML/OFAC which includes timely and accurate compliance with CTRs, SARs, OFAC scans, CTR Exemptions, FinCEN’s 314(a) and (b) searches, and Subpoenas.  

  • Helps maintain the Bank’s compliance policies that impact Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/Office of Foreign Assets Control Act Compliance program, including AMLA and CTA requirements. 
  • Develops and implements training programs that instruct employees about the BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and procedures. 
  • Reviews procedures from the line of business managers that address all products related to all consumer protection and safety and soundness regulations. 
  • Conducts periodic risk assessments as required by policy. 
  • Perform periodic customer due diligence reviews. 
  • Aids employees in the interpretation of the Bank Secrecy Act and the Bank’s regulated programs. 
  • Disseminates information on new or amended Bank Secrecy Act regulations. 
  • Develops procedures for monitoring new or amended Bank Secrecy Act regulations. 
  • Develops procedures for monitoring suspicious activity. 
  • Assists in coordinating audit and examination responses relating to BSA, lending, and operations. Assists in following up to ensure proper action by management and clearance of all exceptions. 
  • Provide guidance, interpretation, and research concerning BSA, lending, and operations compliance issues. 
  • Stay abreast of changes in banking regulations and communicate changes to Bank management. 
  • Assist in preparing documentation for examinations by state and federal regulatory agencies. 
  • Responsible for BSA software administration. 
  • Responsible for time-sensitive monitoring of accounts and transactions with follow-up as required.  
  • Acts as a liaison and primary for examinations and audits of the BSA/AML Compliance program. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge and expertise of banking regulations and financial principles and supports the Company’s overall mission, standards, policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines. 
  • Interacts in a continual professional, courteous manner with customers, employees, officers, and board members.

Performs other duties as required by executive management. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. 
  • Must have prior experience monitoring, investigating, and reporting suspicious activity within mobile banking platforms.  
  • Minimum of five years of banking experience with emphasis on BSA/AML and compliance. 
  • Minimum Certifications: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) 
  • Full background screening and credit check are required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Experience with Verafin, SARs, CTRs, 314, and Sanctions required.  
  • Experience with Crypto and issues around decentralized finance highly preferred.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills; able to clearly prepare and present complex regulatory issues. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, and able to work well with a wide range of people. 
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management skills. 
  • Strong analytical abilities, critical thinking skills, and strong research skills.

Work Environment 

  • This position is designed for a remote work environment. The candidate must have experience in self-managing and utilizing technology effectively and efficiently. 
  • Occasional travel for meetings and events may be required.
