Description

The Infrastructure and Security Manager will lead both teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable operations across all managed environments. This role brings infrastructure and cybersecurity functions closer together, supports Team Leads, and drives forward-looking strategies that improve service delivery, reduce risk, and align with client needs. This role not only ensures operational excellence but also acts as a strategic advisor to clients, identifying opportunities for additional projects and services that drive mutual success.


Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Directly supervises Infrastructure and Cybersecurity team members, including Team Leads.
  • Provides regular coaching, performance feedback, and career development support.
  • Oversees team scheduling, workload distribution, and resource planning.
  • Leads hiring efforts for technical roles within the infrastructure and security functions.
  • Sets and tracks performance goals and KPIs for individual contributors and team leads.
  • Acts as an escalation point for technical and personnel issues within the teams.
  • Ensures alignment with company policies, procedures, and service standards.

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead day-to-day operations across infrastructure (cloud, network, systems) and cybersecurity functions.
  • Align technical delivery with business and client needs, ensuring up time, scalability, and security.
  • Proactively seek to understand client needs and propose enhancements or new projects that align with their business objectives.
  • Manage and mentor team members and Team Leads; set goals, provide feedback, and support development.
  • Oversee project execution including migrations, deployments, and security implementations.
  • Drive proactive improvements across patching, monitoring, automation, and risk management.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for technical and client-related infrastructure/security issues.
  • Collaborate with Service Desk, Project, and Account teams to ensure seamless delivery and communication.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings to provide technical insight, planning, and recommendations.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and threats; recommend tooling and process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards (e.g., CIS, SOC2).
  • Manage and optimize platforms and tools that support infrastructure, security, and monitoring operations.
Requirements


  • 5–8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, or cybersecurity operations, ideally in a managed services or multi-tenant environment.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams or serving in a senior-level engineering role with mentoring or project leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and firewall/network configurations (e.g., Fortinet, SonicWall).
  • Practical experience with EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, MFA, and security policy enforcement.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, CIS benchmarks).
  • Demonstrated success in managing technical platforms and tooling such as RMM, PSA, and security stacks (e.g., Autotask, NinjaOne, SentinelOne).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, client-facing environments with shifting priorities.
  • Relevant certifications required in at least one core area—such as Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps, Fortinet NSE 4+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Industry certifications and ongoing professional development are strongly valued.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-Time 
  • Hybrid
  • 40 hours per week 
  • Monday through Friday 
  • A possibility of off-hours support work. 
  • Primary Escalation Point for On-Call engineers.
  • Be part of an On-Call rotation.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of being in a stationary position while working on a computer
  • Must be able to move and/or lift up to 40 pounds at times
  • Must be comfortable operating a computer and/or other office productivity machinery


Salary Description
$115,000-127,000 annually includes bonus structure
