Position Title:  Staff  Accountant

Summary of Role


Responsible  for processing and accuracy of all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General  Ledger activity in accounting systems according to GAAP. Maintains current  Chart of Accounts and general accounting structure for the organization.  Responsible for assisting in monthly/annual close and audit activities. Ensures  accurate financial and budgetary reporting to internal and external  stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:


· ensures  compliance with company’s financial policies and procedures

· collects,  records, reconciles, and prepares financial reports within financial systems

· inputs  daily transactions into accounting systems

· assists  in preparation and analysis of financial statements and related reports

· involved  in development and implementation of systems and processes to ensure timely  financial reporting

· supports  internal and external audit functions

· manages  monthly balancing of books and monthly account reviews

· provides  management with timely review of organization’s financial status and progress,  as requested

· partners  with other administration personnel in timely delivery of departmental  functions including payroll, employee onboarding, tax compliance, employee  benefits, etc.

· partners  with Mission Advancement to ensure accurate recording of donor contributions  and tracking of restricted gifts

· payroll  and retirement plan administration

· asset  management including vehicle registrations

· other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Characteristics:

     

· must  demonstrate alignment with Kingdom Workers' Statement of Faith


· bachelor’s  degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent experience

· minimum  of two years related experience and/or training

· working  knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reports

· ability  to work with all levels of management

· ability to participate in a work environment that fosters open and honest two-way communication

· ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time, while working on multiple projects simultaneously

· must possess strong communication skills

· be comfortable with the use of technology and software platforms

· have proven ability to work cross-culturally while building relationships and working collaboratively with others

Location and Travel Expectations:

· position is based in the KW Home Office in Waukesha, WI

· position       is required to be onsite

· ability to travel       occasionally

· ability to travel by road, air or other means as may be encountered in a developing country

   

· ability to happily spend time and work in remote areas

· valid passport, or ability to obtain one, required

   

· valid driver’s license required
