This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Peeler Machine and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. We hiring for all shifts.


Essential Job Functions/Duties:


Peeler Machine Set-Up

The operator will be responsible to check the Peeler to assure that:

  • Review all cutting instructions and customer-specific Work Instructions before production begins. 
  • The blade has been sharpened and there are no double edges
  • There are no “nicks” or “high weld” areas
  • The cutting area of the blade is at least 6 5/8” wide
  • Grinders are set properly
  • The proper size gear has been selected, is not excessively worn and has been mounted properly
  • The yardage counter:
  • -is mounted firmly to the Peeler frame
  • -fully contacts the “take-up” roller
  • -is legible
  • The heat sealer is functioning properly machine set-up is performed in accordance with any customer specific

Production Responsibilities:

The operator is responsible to:

  1. Verify the foam type of the blocks being cut against the ticket order.
  2. Notify Group Leader to perform First Article Inspection when he begins to cut a different thickness or cuts a different order.
  3. Assure proper handling of the yardage counter
  4. Check each block for visual defects which must be removed prior to Heat sealing.
  5. Guarantee integrity of each heat seal
  6. Measure and record dimensional data (e.g. - SPC) when required contractually or by customer-specific instructions.
  7. Ensure all quality standards are met in accordance with the work instructions

  3. PPE Requirements: Safety Glasses, Dust Masks, Blade Gloves, Grinder Face Shield


Physical Requirements:

Lift/Carry: Up To 75 Lbs.

Push/Pull: Up To 75 Lbs.


Must be able to stand for extended period of time.
