SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Youth Program Services, the primary function of this position will involve a variety of administrative and program management tasks. This position helps in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carrying out important operational duties. The Manager assists WIOA Youth Sub-Contractors operate more efficiently. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Director in developing and ensuring proper implementation of WIOA Youth related procedures, processes, and services

• Provide administrative support to Director, organizing and managing project-specific tasks and special projects

• Assist with the development and evaluation of procurement planning and audit preparation

• Conduct contract decision making sessions, including modifications and renewals of awarded proposals and grants

• Manage and assist with compliance and monitoring of program operations in accordance with state and federal WIOA regulations 

• Manage and assist with evaluating program effectiveness, investigate trends, and recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness

• Coordinate with communications team to ensure website, social media posts and marketing materials are accurate and revised as needed

• Prepare required and supplemental programmatic reports as needed

• Schedule and organize meetings

• Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (data management, information sharing, video conferencing, presentations, etc.)

• Occasionally survey, evaluate, and interview participants, tracking and investigating issues and/or complaints

• Exhibit professionalism, diplomacy, and ability to appropriately interact with staff, participants, employers, and local stakeholders while maintaining working relationships in all aspects

• Conduct coaching sessions and schedule Professional Development, fostering a learning and continuous improvement mindset amongst contractors

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred  

• Experience in youth development and collaborating with local human service resources

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and the ability to relate to a wide range of issues, people, and institutions

• Excellent public speaking, listening, writing, and computer skills to include Microsoft Office and database management

• Supervisory experience, directing both staff and youth


SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in alternative education instruction

• Experience in youth development and collaborating with local human service resources

• Demonstrate ability to support cross-functional teams

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and the ability to relate to a wide range of issues, people, and institutions

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows environments, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping

• Must be able to conduct research on a wide variety of data sources

• Must have the ability to discern highly confidential materials and documents and maintain an appropriate filing system for all confidential materials


LICENSES:

Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License and insured transportation – Position requires some field work
