Overview of Responsibilities
The Job Developer connects qualified and skilled job candidates to employment opportunities that align with a career pathway. The Job Developer understands the labor market as well as industry career pathways. The Job Developer works with the Career Coach to ensure candidates are job-ready by preparing candidates for interviews, reviews resume, and review essential workforce skills and cultural fit required by the business. The Job Developer works with businesses to identify solutions that align the jobseeker to the job, using workforce development strategies that include learning models. The Job Developer represents AAWDC in the business community and collaborates with all AAWDC business-facing staff.
Communication – Ability to receive and listen to information and present concisely and effectively. Provides clarity and direction to ensure tasks and projects are accomplished successfully. Ensures staff and/or partners have the necessary information to perform the duties of their job. Effectively communicates both verbally and through the written medium. Assembles information for organizational and programmatic reports. Able to represent AAWDC in front of roups.
Problem Solving – Evaluates and utilizes critical thinking skills and good judgment in selecting and implementing solutions relevant to specific tasks or projects. Aptitude in defining the problem and detecting possible issues and setting a course of action. Identifies alternative solutions that ensure projects and tasks are back on course. Understands organizational or initiative policies and standard operating procedures and ensures staff and partners comply with those guidelines.
Customer Service – Providing a timely response to customer inquiries. Communicates effectively and provides reasonable solutions that are satisfactory to the customer. Uses empathy and understanding when addressing customer needs. Ensures the customer understands the decided outcome. Responds to multiple customer requests and concerns and is able to organize and prioritize those requests and needs.
Business Development – Creates meaningful and impactful relationships with the business community representing AAWDC and the strategies employed to solve talent management and other challenges. Ensures that businesses in Anne Arundel County and the region have access to a workforce that possesses both the essential workplace and occupational skills needed to keep them competitive and achieves their bottom-line goals. Represents AAWDC in the business community and creates awareness of the customized services the organization offers to address their workforce development challenges. Provides referral services to other community and business partners. Ability to demonstrate the ROI in accessing AAWDC business services.
Industry Sector Strategy and Implementation – Understands the unique workforce challenges of the high-growth industries in Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas. Utilizes industry-driven data and information to formulate innovative and effective strategies to address systemic industry-related trends related to talent management and other workforce development challenges. Utilizes sector partnerships to stay abreast of current and future workforce issues and shares the knowledge with key staff to be used in serving their constituents. Serves as a key resource for the industry
Skills and Certifications
This position requires the ability to successfully identifying and sourcing talent. Collaborates with internal and external partners. S/he has experience working with the business community with an emphasis on talent acquisition. Ability to identify and source candidates including, review of resume and employment preparation. Highly analytical, perceptive, curious, and with sound judgment. Proactive attitude and problem-solving ability. Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail. Ability to work individually and within a highly collaborative team environment. The position requires intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook, excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
BA/BS in human resources or related discipline. At least 3 to 5 years of recruitment experience.
