Instructional Design and Technology Specialist

Greenville University is accepting applications for an Instructional Design and Technology Specialist.  The selected candidate will have responsibility for supporting faculty and administrators in the use of technology for teaching and learning.  The selected candidate will also serve as a consultant in developing and formatting course content for both face to face and online courses offered at Greenville University.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies knowledge of instructional design strategies in order to enhance & develop teaching/learning.
  • Works collaboratively with faculty and staff leading development sessions for both technical and administrative support
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Manages Brightspace/D2L in partnership with IT for future enhancements and continuous improvement; day to day trouble-shooting and resolving technical issues
  • Assists in the creation, formatting and development of course content for online courses
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience
  • Keeps up-to-date of latest technological updates in teaching and learning subjects
  • Ability to think outside the box and review processes for improved use by faculty and staff
  • Experience working with varying levels of leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective presentation skills in face-to-face and online environments.

Education or Certification

Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum & Instruction or related field preferred.  

Related work experience preferred. 

Position demands a practitioner’s understanding of higher education curriculum.
