SUMMARY: The Licensed Senior Behavioral Health Clinician – Team Lead provides clinical leadership, oversight, and supervision to the Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) team. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services are delivered across integrated care settings. The Team Lead provides direct clinical services, supervises non-licensed clinicians, coordinates interdisciplinary care, and collaborates with the Behavioral Health Director and primary care teams to promote patient access, staff development, and operational excellence.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Oversight

· Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) team, including clinicians, care coordinators, and interns.

· Ensure effective integration of behavioral health within primary care and other service lines.

· Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Director to implement departmental goals, policies, and quality initiatives.

· Participate in program planning, development, and performance improvement activities.

Clinical Supervision

· Provide clinical supervision to non-licensed behavioral health clinicians and trainees, ensuring adherence to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.

· Review and co-sign documentation for supervisees as required by licensing boards and organizational policy.

· Support staff professional development through regular feedback, case consultation, and continuing education guidance.

· Keep clinical supervision documentation needed for licensure applications

Clinical Practice

· Deliver direct behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment to patients, both in-person and via telehealth.

· Maintain a limited clinical caseload while modeling best practices in patient care, documentation, and collaboration.

· Support crisis intervention and case management services as needed.

Operational Management

· Develop and maintain provider and patient schedule templates to optimize access and productivity.

· Monitor clinical productivity and quality metrics; work with staff to meet or exceed established benchmarks.

· Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Director to identify and address workflow barriers and staffing needs.

· Ensure compliance with documentation standards, billing practices, and confidentiality requirements.

Collaboration & Integration

· Serve as a key liaison between the Behavioral Health department and Primary Care teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.

· Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

· Promote a culture of integration, communication, and respect among all members of the care team

   

REQUIRED SKILLS &   COMPETENCIES:

 

Education, Certification, and Licensure

· Master’s degree in Mental Health (LMHC) or Social Work (LICSW)

· Active and unrestricted state license in MA (LMHC or LICSW)

· Has been licensed for at least two years.

· CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths) certification, required

Experience:

Demonstrated professional, positive attitude, vision, and understanding of behavioral health integration within the primary care setting. Demonstrated understanding to the healthcare needs of medically underserved communities. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and between all departments.Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in behavioral health, preferably in integrated or primary care settings.Must be comfortable providing clinical supervision and oversight to BH clinicians caring for patients of all ages. Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).Strong oral and written communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Preference for those who have language capacity in addition to English. Preferred: Experience using EPIC EMR.

72,500 -108,800 Annually
