BE A HERO! We are facing challenging times and you can make a difference. St. Louis area hospital is seeking candidates to assist in their Patient Transport department. The goal of the Patient Transport Department is to transport patients in a safe and timely manner throughout the medical complex, promote the safety and well being of all patients that we serve, and maintain transport equipment within the medical complex. Patient Transport employs a state of the art Tele-Tracking system to facilitate and coordinate assignments throughout the hospital to support efficiency and customer/patient care. Transports patients and/or items such as lab specimens and x-ray films to and from patient rooms and ancillary areas. Provides an acceptable flow of customer and miscellaneous items to and from different treatment areas, physician's offices, and other areas throughout the medical complex. The pre-screening will involve a background check (must be clean), and drug test (must be clean). You will have to provide a copy of your immunization record and/or get shots to work in a hospital setting. High School Diploma, GED or HiSET required

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Transports and lifts non-ambulatory patients, x-rays, medical records, specimens, and other special deliveries throughout hospital campus.
  • Keeps equipment clean and functional.
  • Completes assigned tasks within department expectations.
  • It has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $14.00 to $14.88 per hour (based on shift)

Weekend Pay Differential: $15.00 to $15.88 per hour (based on shift)


Flexibility to work evenings, nights and/or weekends and reliable transportation is a plus.
