Key Responsibilities:

- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with various musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions

- Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities, to promote patient recovery and mobility

- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to supervising therapists

- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during therapy sessions

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies

- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care


Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in California or eligibility for licensure

- Proven experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a clinical or outpatient setting

- Strong understanding of physical therapy techniques and modalities

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Flexibility to adapt to different clinical environments and patient needs

- Current CPR/BLS certification

Requirements

 

Education & Licensure

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current California PTA license or eligibility to obtain one
  • CPR certification (often required or preferred)

Experience

  • 1+ years of clinical experience preferred (new grads may be considered)
  • Experience in outpatient, inpatient, or skilled nursing settings is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of therapeutic exercises and modalities
  • Ability to assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
