Assistant Controller

Job Summary:

Provides assistance to the Corporate Controller by directing and coordinating the work of a number of accounting associates in all aspects of accounting including general ledger (G/L) and accounts payable (A/P).

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage reconciliation of daily cash and credit card transactions for all companies
  • Develop an understanding of the billing system, processes and reporting
  • Record accounts receivable (A/R) transactions and reconcile system balance
  • Maintain fixed asset inventory, depreciation schedules and G/L balances
  • Prepare various journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Review payroll interface to the G/L and manage the payroll accrual
  • Analyze financial statements and troubleshoot results with division directors
  • Prepare financial statement variance explanations and trend analysis
  • Produce the monthly financial statements and reporting package
  • Prepare schedules and assist in preparation for the year-end financial audit
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual operational budgets
  • Continually evaluate processes and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Manage credit card processing and tracking
  • Complete sales and use tax returns and property tax returns
  • Other duties as assigned

The most qualified candidates will have: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
  • Intermediate to expert excel skills
  • Healthcare finance experience required
  • 5 years of relevant experience with a strong knowledge of accounting policies, practices and terminology
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • MAS90/MAS200 experience.
