The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role ensures consistency, accuracy, and speed in food preparation while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and teamwork. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to Buck ’54 standards and recipes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage, labeling, and dating.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.
- Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and batching as needed.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff.
- Ensure food leaves the kitchen in a timely manner and meets quality/appearance standards.
- Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing inventory.
- Support the team during peak times and help where needed to keep service moving smoothly.
- Follow opening, closing, and side-work procedures as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Chef.

Requirements
- Line cook or kitchen experience preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.
- Spanish is not required for this position, but much of our kitchen team primarily speaks Spanish, so the ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs for extended periods.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
