Description
The ASME Plasma/Roll Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining plasma cutting and roll forming equipment to fabricate metal parts and components according to ASME standards. This role involves setting up machines, selecting materials, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and safety standards.
No prior plasma or roll experience? No problem – we are willing to fully train motivated individuals who have a strong mechanical aptitude, a solid work ethic, and a desire to learn skilled manufacturing trades.
Primary Responsibilities
- Champion safety by leading with a safety-first mindset. You are empowered to speak up and act before risks arise.
- Set up and operate plasma cutting and roll forming machines to cut and shape metal parts.
- Select appropriate raw materials based on job specifications and ASME standards.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, adjusting as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including material usage and machine settings.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets.
- Regular attendance is essential

Requirements
Experience
- Previous machine operation experience is a plus, but not required – we will train you on our plasma and roll equipment!
- Technical training or coursework in machine operation, manufacturing, or a related field is helpful
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn skilled trade work
- Experience in an ASME-regulated or quality-focused manufacturing environment is a bonus
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking: Up to 6 hours per shift
- Lifting/Carrying: Regular lifting of materials up to 50 lbs
- Bending/Stooping/Kneeling: Frequent throughout shift
- Reaching/Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and arms for tool operation and assembly work
- Vision/Hearing/Communication: Clear vision and hearing required for safety and effective communication
- Pushing/Pulling/Climbing: Periodic pushing or pulling of equipment or materials; occasional ladder use
Work Environment
- Exposure to heat, sparks, smoke, and fumes from welding/cutting operations
- Moderate to loud noise levels from machinery and tools
- Must be willing and able to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with varying temperatures
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
