Summary:

Receives cash, comps, or credit cards from customers in payment for goods or services by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Computes or recomputes bill showing amount due.
  • Makes change, and issues receipts to customers.
  • Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.
  • Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.
  • Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
  • Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for disputed items.
  • Operates cash register to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase on monitor screen.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.


Education and/or Experience:

  • 1 year previous cash handling experience.  
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  
  • Must pass a basic math aptitude test.  
  • Must have basic computer Skills
