Expert Per Diem Surgical Technologist – Urology Specialty

Are you an experienced Surgical Tech looking to keep your skills sharp without the burnout of hospital life? Urology Surgery Center Northwest is seeking a high-caliber, detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our elite surgical team on a Per Diem basis.

The Details: Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay Range: $26.00 – $34.00 per hour (based on your valuable experience).
  • Per Diem Flexibility: Approximately 6 – 18 hours per week.
  • Shift Times: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • Ultimate Work-Life Balance: Monday–Friday only. No nights, no weekends, and absolutely no on-call duties.

Your Role in the OR

As a vital member of our surgical team, you will ensure our urological procedures run with surgical precision:

  • Expert Setup: Assemble equipment and supplies, ensuring sterile fields are prepared according to specific surgical interventions.
  • Surgeon Support: Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures and maintain a seamless flow within the sterile field.
  • Aseptic Mastery: Apply rigorous principles of asepsis, sterilization, and disinfection techniques.
  • Quality Control: Manage decontamination of instruments and equipment, and keep management informed of any equipment needs.
  • Patient Safety: Utilize universal precautions and respond expertly to any emergency situations.

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of surgical experience is required (Urology experience is a major plus).
  • Certification: Current BLS Certification is required. Surgical Technologist certification is required 
  • Skill Set: You are dependable, calm under pressure, and have excellent interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with our physicians and staff.

GENERAL SUMMARY


The Surgical Technologist is an integral member of the surgical team and provides quality care to our patients. Care is rendered by providing and controlling the sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment required during surgical intervention. The technologist ensures that the instruments and supplies are cleaned, sterilized, and available when needed. 



Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Assembles supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. Opens sterile supplies and prepares for operative procedures.
  • Sets up table, instruments and supplies according to the type of surgical procedure.
  • Applies principles of asepsis. Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization and disinfection techniques.
  • Assists and anticipates the needs of the surgeon during procedure. Works within established scope of practice.
  • Utilizes universal precautions when providing patient care.
  • Decontaminates all equipment, instruments, and supplies according to procedures.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Assists with cleaning and maintenance of rooms, equipment, and furniture.
  • Assists with inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Supports and adheres to all company and Surgery Center policies and procedures, Codes of Conduct, Ethics, Compliance, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Participates in Best Practices, Quality/Risk Initiatives and other committees to improve patient care.
  • Keeps management informed of any malfunctions in instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.
  • Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS


  • Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
