Standard Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm. MUST be willing to be flexible as jobs may change.
Position Summary:
The Low Voltage / Fire Alarm Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Fire Alarm and Low Voltage division. This role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams. The Operations Manager provides leadership, technical direction, and coordination between field and office staff to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Division Manager daily to facilitate communication and knowledge share regarding day-to-day operations.
- Participate in the bidding process to help strategize future needs for the project.
- Participate in monthly financial meetings to gain an understanding of the financial company’s progress.
- Review and interpret project documents such as drawings, specifications, and contracts to guide project approach and execution.
- Establish an effective training strategy to enhance the abilities of the Project Managers while establishing guidelines and developing standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Create a collaborative, high-performance environment that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and performance improvement.
- Maintains the division-specific Standard Operating Procedure document, (SOP).
- Implements and enforces the SOPs to ensure that they are adhered to by the Project Managers and overall team.
- Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
- Oversees that the administrative staff and the PMs work together in unison, ensuring each department reaches the goals set by company leadership.
- Works with the Estimator, Project Managers, and Warehouse team to control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast purchasing and material needs, while communicating information that may be of benefit to the administrators for billing and permitting purposes.
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, SOPs, or procedures to Project Managers; meets with entire division office staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Required: Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience.
- Required: Thorough understanding of electrical installation practices, theory, and code involved in the business.
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Periodic exposure to outdoor conditions.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
