SUMMARY

The Clinical Supervisor will provide individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with the regulatory standards and guidelines of Community Behavioral Health (CBH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) to both licensed and unlicensed staff in various environments and modalities. The emphasis of the Behavioral Health services is multi-faceted and includes meeting clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity, ensuring proper care is provided in accordance with service delivery contracts and providing ongoing clinical staff development. Duties may include establishing clinical practice policy, case consultation, creating and reviewing clinical documentation and facilitating in-service training, oversight and management of mental health outpatient services. Collaboration with other departments is a vital component of the Clinical Supervisor role. The position can also include direct service by way of individual, family and group therapy to APM clients. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervision of Therapists

· Provide a minimum of one-hour individual and one-hour group supervision for therapists per month.

· Conduct case consultation conferences with the doctor and clinicians and timely document the details on the Electronic Health Record (EHR). 

2. Caseload 

· Provide therapeutic services to a caseload using a variety of therapeutic modalities. 

· Manage a team of 15 clinicians or a minimum of 1500 billing units biweekly (750 weekly).

· Monthly review of each therapist’s caseload.

3. Training

· Must obtain list of mandated trainings from the Administrative Director at the beginning of the year, make appropriate training recommendations for the clinicians throughout the year, and follow up on their training requirements during the monthly supervisions. 

· Complete performance evaluations and individual training plans for all clinicians every November. 

· Make sure all clinicians complete the evidence-based training and are certified. 

4. Billing

· Collect the billing cycle schedule from the billing supervisor.

· Make sure all therapists have submitted their billing sheets within 72 hours of services and their timesheets before the billing closing date and time.

5. Documentation

· Review all treatment plans, CBE-1, intakes, and therapies, and approve for billing.

· Review progress notes randomly to make sure they are following the doctor’s diagnosis stated in the evaluation and treatment plan goals.

· Document all case consultations in Credible within 48 hours.

6. Supervision with Program Director

· Participate in 1-2 hours weekly meetings with Administrative Director.

· Submit a weekly report to Program Director while on supervision.

Requirements
  • Licensed mental health clinician preferred or a master’s degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline such as psychology, counseling, clinical social work, psychiatric nursing, or marriage and family therapy. The master’s degree must include clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provision of mental health services. 
  • If coursework is part of a medical degree, there must be clear evidence that the course was directly related to the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders rather than medical conditions. Appropriate medical degrees/training will include substantial training in mental health disorders; medical degrees that are behavioral health-related usually include a residency in psychiatry. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years verified post-master’s paid experience providing behavioral health treatment of a clinical nature, including psychotherapy, counseling, and assessment. If the supervisor is supervising clinicians treating children, the experience must be with children.
