Position Overview:
Blackfeet Community Hospital is hiring a long-term OB/GYN Locum Physician (MD/DO) in Browning, Montana. This is a government-owned and operated facility providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care.

  • Long-term OB/GYN MD/DO contract opportunity — up to 1 year with possible extensions

  • OB/GYN experience as an MD/DO required 
  • 2–3 years of post-residency experience needed
  • Previous locum tenens and IHS facility experience preferred 
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology required 
  • Must hold a valid U.S. medical license (any state) 
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required 

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients across all stages of life 
  • Manage prenatal, labor & delivery, and postpartum care 
  • Perform gynecological surgeries and procedures within scope of privileges 
  • Collaborate with nursing, midwifery, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care 
  • Participate in on-call coverage for obstetrics and emergencies as assigned 
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding reproductive health and family planning 
  • Document all encounters and procedures in accordance with facility policy and federal regulations 
  • Participate in quality improvement and peer review initiatives

Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).

Requirements

 Requirements

  • Active, Unrestricted Medical License — Must hold a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Montana or any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
  • Board Certification/Eligibility — Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG)
  • Active DEA Registration — Required to prescribe and manage controlled substances. 
  • Certifications — Must have current certifications in: 
    • Basic Life Support (BLS
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP
  • Citizenship — Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily within the United States. 
  • Experience — Minimum of 2 years of relevant OB/GYN clinical experience post-residency required. 
  • Credentialing — Must complete all credentialing requirements within 10 days of offer acceptance
  • Federal Security Clearance — Must be willing and able to complete and pass the federal background and security clearance process.
