JOB SUMMARY 


We are seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to be responsible for facilitating all warehouse transactions, including incoming and outgoing materials. Your role involves operating forklifts, assisting with material handling tasks, and supporting various departments within the company as required. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a positive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Safely and professionally operate forklifts to move materials within the warehouse
  • Load subcontractors' hard surface, carpet, and vinyl materials for outbound shipments
  • Assist with the return of materials from subcontractors, ensuring accurate verification and storage
  • Unload materials from vendors, verifying RFMS for bin combinations
  • Stage orders for future shipments and maintain organized inventory
  • Stock the supply store and prepare materials for upcoming business needs
  • Unload pad trailers as needed to replenish inventory
  • Learn RFMS systems to assist with receiving, printing, and screening processes
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as emptying trash, sweeping floors, and maintaining cleanliness in both      warehouse areas
  • Operate equipment to cut materials for various applications
  • Conduct cycle counts as directed and assist with year-end inventory audits
  • Ensure warehouse security by locking and unlocking facilities and vehicles
  • Complete daily and weekly forklift checklists, reporting any issues to the supervisor
  • Participate in updating procedures and job descriptions for the warehouse area
  • Promote teamwork to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently before the end of the shift
  • Support internal customers and collaborate with other departments as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to comprehend work instructions and learn RFMS computer programs
  • Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to lift 50lbs independently; heavier loads will be assisted
  • Strong organizational skills, time management abilities, and effective communication
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and adaptable to change
  • Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and demonstrate ownership of tasks
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or materials handling role is preferred but not required
