Primary Objective
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for the Mountain Region is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening customer relationships across Colorado and surrounding Mountain states. This role serves as the primary sales leader for the region, promoting and selling the full suite of MoboTrex products and services within the traffic and ITS industry.
The RSM partners closely with inside sales, field technicians, marketing, and vendor partners to meet regional sales goals, support customer needs, and represent MoboTrex as an industry leader. This position requires a proactive, relationship-driven sales professional with strong technical aptitude and the ability to manage both short-range opportunities and long-term strategic accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve annual top-line sales targets and performance metrics as outlined in the MoboTrex Corporate Business Plan.
- Increase revenue through proactive sales activities, new customer acquisition, and expansion of existing accounts.
- Promote, present, demonstrate, and sell all MoboTrex products and services.
Regional Management
- Manage regional sales activity in a cost-efficient manner aligned with the approved operating budget.
- Maintain regular customer visits and field-based relationship-building across the assigned territory.
- Participate in project management processes for regional projects exceeding $50K in revenue.
Customer Relationship Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers, engineers, agencies, and industry partners.
- Ensure continuity of customer relationships across multiple contact levels in the event of staff turnover.
- Provide timely and responsive customer support, problem-solving, and follow-up.
Strategic Sales Initiatives
- Drive the specification and promotion of core traffic signal products and expand peripheral product sales.
- Work collaboratively with inside sales, field technicians, and vendor partners to support regional strategies and training efforts.
- Monitor and communicate competitor intelligence, market trends, legislative updates, and industry changes.
- Provide input to marketing programs, campaigns, and product positioning.
Operational Responsibilities
- Must hold an acceptable driving record and be able to travel extensively.
- Participate in annual sales planning, forecasting, and budget development.
- Attend and represent MoboTrex at trade shows, conferences, and industry association events.
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, sales pipeline updates, and reporting to Sales Leadership.
- Submit timely and accurate expense reports in accordance with company policy.
- Follow all company policies, ethical guidelines, and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Product and Technical support
· Assist end users with technical support before, during, and after the sale. Such as, but not limited to,
• In-person training and demonstration.
• Equipment turn-on, programming and setup in the field.
• On-site and/or remote troubleshooting over the phone or through virtual conference.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Proven sales experience required; A minimum of one to three years of sales experience in the transportation, ITS, or traffic management industry strongly preferred.
- Technical sales or field-based traffic engineering/traffic signal industry knowledge is a plus.
- Experience in the traffic control, lighting, or ITS field is a significant advantage. Specific knowledge of traffic signal and ITS equipment installation, operation, and construction methods is highly valuable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) is essential.
- Ability to obtain IMSA Traffic Signals Level I and Level II certification (company-supported).
- Strong consultative selling skills with excellent presentation, negotiation, and closing capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong drive for results and continuous improvement.
- Competent in CRM platforms and able to track, update, and communicate sales progress effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with regular travel.
