Job Summary
Provides excellent customer service. Performs a variety of duties relating to retail food service including greeting, serving and suggestive selling. Stocks and replenishes meat retail area and maintains sanitation standards. Responsible customer service is a major component of this position.
Responsibilities
- Provides customers with prompt and courteous service or assistance.
- Adheres to all local, county, state and federal health, civil code, and weights and measures laws.
- Wraps, weighs, prices all meats and related products processed in the department.
- Follows procedures for weighing, wrapping, price marking and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation.
- Stocks display cases and ensures proper rotation of products, takes finished products to refrigerated storage or shelf areas.
- Communicates temperature irregularities to Team Leader.
- Handles damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assists in controlling the level of damaged goods, reports them to Manager, First Cutter or Cutter.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Works in a non-smoking environment where there is not physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, etc. Exposure to cold temperatures in meat cooler, cutting room and freezer. Exposure to a wet environment from washing and sanitation. Exposure to strong cleaning agents for sanitation. PPE is provided and required to be worn in applicable areas at all times.

Education And Experience
- High school education or equivalent required
- 1-2 years' experience in food service or retail setting strongly desired
- 1-2 years' experience in meat department operations strongly desired
