Pay: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour
Job Summary
Responsible for mixing and casting refractory products, setting up, breaking down, and cleaning of molds. Working independently and collaboratively with team members.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Set-up, break down and clean molds, which are used during the pouring process
- Operate large mixers
- Pouring and casting of refractory parts
- Post process refractory parts including grinding, cutting and applying coatings
- Operation of kilns
- Use basic hand, electric, and pneumatic tools
- Able to operate a crane and forklift
- Reading blueprints or job specifications to be able to perform various tasks
- Maintain proper and accurate paperwork including completion of inspection documentation
- Follow documented procedures and maintain a high degree of quality
- Perform housekeeping, organization, and maintenance of work area and tools
- Perform inspection of products using inspection equipment applicable to the task
- Communicate effectively with co-workers using both written and verbal communication skills
- Organized with an emphasis on quality and the ability to meet deadlines
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Abide by company policies
- In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Familiar with hand and power tools
- Ability to enter data into a PC
- Ability to wear PPE
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery and equipment, vibration, high pressure equipment and high temperature equipment. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. While performing some job duties, there is a risk of electrical shock and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the working environment is often loud. Because of this environment and associated risks, use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required.
Employment at Wagstaff is dependent on successfully passing a company-paid drug screening and background check upon hire.
