Description
 Senior Media Strategist

We’re looking for a Senior Media Strategist to plan all forms of media for our clients. This Sr. strategist has experience in developing and implementing media strategy and omni-channel plans and 5+ years in digital and emerging media.

About You

You’ve developed your own strategic perspective on media planning, so you can come right in and offer valuable insights. You’re always studying the ever-evolving digital landscape and how media tactics transform from one day to the next, with the ultimate goal of keeping our clients one step ahead, no matter what tomorrow might bring.

About Us

We’re a full-service agency with offices in Des Moines, Sioux Falls, and Portland. At the heart of our success has always been human creativity. The role of brilliant individuals, and their original ideas, remains just as relevant today as when we opened our doors more than 40 years ago. That’s why we continue to take care of our own like we take care of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Media Strategy Development: Developing and implementing media strategies based on client objectives and goals.
  • Campaign Planning: Creating and managing media campaigns across various channels within an omni-channel environment, including programmatic digital/video, CTV/OTT, paid social, traditional, and out-of-home.
  • Media Buying: Negotiating and purchasing media space and time.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing campaign performance to identify areas for optimization. Includes forecasting, pacing, budget reallocation rules, test-and-learn plans, and how success is defined (CPL, CPA, ROAS, incrementally).
  • Audience + Data: Using first-party data, geo and audience strategy, data partnerships, lookalikes, privacy compliance (HIPAA/PHI if relevant; GDPR/CPRA awareness).
  • Client Communication: Maintaining strong client relationships and communicating media strategies and plans effectively.
  • Staying Current: Keeping up with industry trends, media technology, and best practices.
  • Maintain Program Skills: Stay current on certifications and knowledge related to the performance of daily job functions: Strata, Trade Desk, Sales Force, Microsoft, Google and others as deemed necessary.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with Account Services, Creative and Billing to ensure everyone understands campaign goals and results.
  • Own The Plan: Translate business goals into channel mix, flighting, and budget allocations with rationale.
  • Report & Recommend: Monthly performance stories, not just metrics, with clear next steps.

Qualifications:

  • College degree (preferred).
  • Ability to think strategically and offer valuable insight on media execution as it applies to achievement of client goals.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on experience managing demand-side platforms (Trade Desk).
  • Current or willing to obtain key certifications (TTD, Google, Meta).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
  • Other duties as directed by department leader.

Perks + Benefits:

  • Office in the heart of downtown — steps away from art, culture and some of the city’s best spots for coffee, lunch and happy hour.
  • Free downtown parking.
  • Comprehensive plans for group health, dental, vision and life insurance.
  • 401k with company match.
  • Plenty of Personal Time Off (PTO), plus paid holidays.
  • Potential for bonuses based on success of agency.
  • Even more money for Employee Referral Program.
  • Extracurriculars that tend to be historic events.
